Now that you have read (I hope) the whole book, you have a better understanding at the fundamental parts of the Public Health world. At the beginning of chapter 6, the books states “…when public health efforts are successful, nothing happens” (Turnock, 2016, page 163). The fact that so few Ebola and Zika cases occurred on U.S. soil is solely due to public health’s efforts. Now we have COVID which is worse in the US than any other developed country.
