Management homework help. Week 5 Assignment
Create a Scope Management Presentation
Overview and Rationale
For this assignment, you will create a comprehensive Project Scope Management presentation
to present to senior management [such as a project sponsor or an organization’s project
governance group] for review and approval.
Program and Course Outcomes
The following course learning objectives are addressed through this assignment:
• Assess how project Scope Management impacts and integrates with other project planning
deliverables
Presentation Instructions and Essential Components
• Create and (virtually) present an overview of the project’s proposed scope for your chosen
case study. Assume the presentation’s audience is the project’s Project Governance
Steering Committee or project sponsor.
• Create your presentation using MS PowerPoint, with no more than 10 slides that include
the following required elements:
1. A one-slide Executive Summary briefly introducing the project and highlighting the
specific scope management processes, tools and techniques used to develop the project
scope.
2. A summary of the project’s process for collecting requirements, including the tools used
to collect requirements.
3. An outline of all the necessary elements of the project’s Scope Statement. The objective:
present the Scope Statement content to the project sponsor for review and approval.
4. Include and briefly discuss key features of the WBS for your project. Note: the WBS can
be summarized; it must also be legible (please don’t paste the WBS into the
presentation with less than 8-point font.)
5. Discuss how you plan to formally and effectively manage project scope changes to
prevent project scope creep. (Hint: an outline of Project Scope Change Control process,
customized to your specific project, would be expected)
6. At least one recommended scope tradeoff if the project goes over budget or schedule,
for sponsor review and approval.
• NOTE: the presentation must have detailed speaker notes or spoken narrative. Lack of
speaker notes and/or narration automatically reduces the assignment grade down to
a B-.)
Assignment Format
Below are some key guidelines to follow. Think of this short list as a quality control checklist,
along with the attached grading rubric.
• Presentation must be in Microsoft PowerPoint (.PPT) format
• Presentation must have either detailed speaker notes or a narration
• Professional presentation formats are expected. Reminder, the presentation will be
graded mostly on content versus your ability to make wonderful presentation slides.
Please be sure to review the attached rubric. Along with these assignment instructions, the
rubric will ensure you have a solid understanding of the assignment requirements and how the
assignment will be graded.
